WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police are looking for a man for robbery after marijuana deal went awry and shots were fired in Woodbridge on Friday night, say Prince William County Police.
According to police, officers responded to the area of Hillendale Dr and Haddock Rd shortly before 9:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired. A 20-year-old man, later identified as Jose Neftaly Canales Granados, told them he was in the area of Harry Dawson Park waiting for a male acquaintance to sell marijuana, say police. According to police, Clarence Christopher Coleman had a shotgun when he arrived at the location and demanded the marijuana and the victim's wallet. Canales Granados handed over the marijuana, but a struggle ensued over the wallet, say police.
Police say Canales Granados broke free and ran away. Coleman started chasing him and fired the shotgun towards the victim. He did not hit Canales Granados, say police.
Both the shooting suspect and the victim are charged in this incident, but officers have been unable to locate Coleman, according to police. Coleman is wanted for robbery, attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police say he is described as a black male, 5'8" tall and 150 pounds with a medium build with black hair and brown eyes.
Canales Granados is charged with possession of marijuana, say police. According to police, he was released on a summons and has a court date in June.
