WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Arlington Police pulled over a vehicle with two adults and seven young children, all of whom were not buckled with any type of safety restraints.
The two adult suspects are owners of a daycare center in Alexandria, Va. They were pulled over in the 2600 block of Shirlington Road at approximately 9:00 a.m. yesterday. The children were aged between 5 months and 3 years old. One child was sitting in the lap of the adult in the front passenger seat. Two of the children were in the cargo area of the vehicle which had no seats, police said.
Betty Ross, 34, and Cassandra Lewis, 37, of Alexandria, VA were charged with seven counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both have been released on summons, officials said.
According to Police, all children were safely returned to their parents.
