(WUSA9) -- Loudoun County Sheriff's authorities say a driver who struck a 10-year-old on Saturday in Broadlands was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian within a crosswalk.
According to authorities, the girl was on a bicycle and with her parents trying to cross Marshfield Drive when she was hit by a car on Saturday afternoon.
Twenty-six-year-old Courtney A. Chapman of Leesburg was identified as the driver and issued a summons, according to authorities.
The girl was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained minor injuries, say authorities. They say she was transported to Inova Loudoun Hospital.
