Police Holding Meeting After 22nd Groper Incident In Springfield

(WUSA9) -- Was an assault on Tuesday night the 22nd groper incident in the Springfield area? Fairfax County police say it may be. 

Police say a man grabbed a woman who was placing luggage into the trunk of her car in the 6400 block of Franconia Court at 7 p.m. When she turned around, the man reportedly fled.

There is a description of the suspect. Police say he was described as a white male between 20 and 30 years old and approximately 5'10" tall. At the time, he wore a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a white ball cap.

Police say they will host a community-wide meeting at Crestwood Elementary School at 6010 Hanover Street in Springfield on Thursday at 7 p.m. People will be able to ask questions about the incidents and express their concerns. Police also say they will give a briefing on the assaults and present crime prevention strategies.
