Alexandria Police are Investigating Two Cases of Stolen Police Cruisers after one was found in Northeast D.C. and another was found in Prince George's County

ALEXANDRIA, VA (WUSA) - Alexandria Police are investigating whether or not two stolen police cruiser cases are related.

First, a stolen Alexandria police cruiser was recovered Friday, December 14 in Prince George's County at around 5:00 p.m.. 

The vehicle was towed back to Alexandria Police Headquarters.  After searching the stolen cruiser, Alexandria Police confirmed that a Remington 870 shotgun and a Panasonic Toughbook Mobile Computer were taken from the car.

Then, it was reported that a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria police cruiser was stolen from the 1500 block of Princess Street overnight that same evening.  That car was discovered missing at around 4:35 Saturday morning, and shortly thereafter Metropolitan Police contacted Alexandria Police and told them the cruiser was found in Northeast D.C.. 

The car was towed to Alexandria Police Headquarters for processing.  Nothing was taken from the car.
