FALLS CHURCH, Va. (WUSA) -- Students of Mary Ellen Henderson Elementary School don't need to go to class today.
School officials say a sewage leak and sink hole were found at the school. Crews worked on it Wednesday evening but weren't able to fix it in time for school Thursday. Officials say an excavator must be called out, and that means no restrooms. The excavator will work within 1 ½ feet of the school's main gas line as well, so officials have decided to close the school.
Falls Church school system is offering Emergency Day Care for free, if families really need it, Thursday between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
