ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) - At last, a Black Friday deal that doesn't involve waiting in a line getting frostbite at midnight or battling crowds for a too-good-to-be-true discount.
The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is once again hosting a Black Friday Adoption Special at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter. On Black Friday, Nov. 23,from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m., you can name your adoption fee (minimum $10) for all animals age six months and older. This is a reduction on the typical adult dog/cat adoption fees of $150-120.
All animals are spayed or neutered before adoption, and have been examined by the shelter veterinarian, tested for heartworm (dogs) and FeLV/FIV (cats), are current on all basic vaccinations, and microchipped for permanent identification.
All dog adopters are also given four free classes in the TulipLeague's Charm School, and complimentary veterinary checkups are also available to all adopters.

You'll even find refreshments: baked goodies will be available to buy outside the shelter, provided by AWLA volunteers, and all proceeds benefit the AWLA.
And all adopters on Black Friday will receive a special treat from Pro Feed Pet Nutrition Centers.
