Sean Lee Fleming arrested, charged in connection with Alexandria, Va., car dealership burglaries

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) -  A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of car dealership burglaries that date back to February of this year, according to Alexandria police.

Sean Lee Fleming, 39, of no fixed address, was arrested on October 24, in Atlantic City, N.J., and charged with burglary and attempted grand larceny in the June 28 burglary of the Landmark Honda.

Fleming will be extradited to Virginia to face those charges. He is believed to be connected to a series of regional car dealership burglaries from Feb.-Oct. in the National Capital Region.

Fleming may be responsible for more than 40 burglaries involving the theft of thousands of dollars from the dealerships, according to police.

The incidents of burglary include:

• February 27, Jack Taylor Toyota, Attempted Burglary: Suspect attempted to pry open a service door with a tire iron. No entry was made to the business.
• March 12, Jack Taylor Toyota, Burglary: Suspect entered business by prying a service door and removed cash from the safe.
• March 31, Jack Taylor Toyota, Burglary: Suspect entered business by unknown means, pried open the safe and removed cash.
• June 2, Jack Taylor Toyota, Burglary: Suspect entered the business, pried open the safe and removed cash.

The investigation is continuing, and additional charges may be filed, according to police.
