Teen Charged With Assault And Battery After Choking A Student At Woodbridge Senior High School

WOODBRIDGE, Va (WUSA) -- A 17-year-old high school student has been charged with assault and battery after strangling a student, police said.

On Oct. 17 at about 9:30 a.m. police arrived at Woodbridge Senior High School located at 3001 Old Bridge Rod for reports of an assault, Prince William County Police said. 

After an investigation, police determined that the 15-year-old boy walked in the restroom and hit the accused several times in the leg, police said.

As a result, the 17-year-old placed his arm around the 15-year-old's neck until he became limp. When the teen fainted, the accused dropped him to the floor, causing the teen to hit his head on the concrete, police said.

The victim was flown to an area hospital due to precautionary measures, police said.

The 17-year-old was released to his parents after being charged.
