ARLINGTON, Va. (WUSA) -- Arlington County Police confirm that at least 10 cars were broken into at the Pentagon City Mall parking lot Tuesday. Five vehicles actually had items stolen from them. Police also say that two of the cars belonged to law enforcement agencies, but not to Arlington County.

At this point, police believe the incidents happened between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Police are encouraging people to lock up their cars and hide their valuables from sight. Anyone who sees suspicious activity at the location should notify police or mall security.
