RESTON, Va. (WUSA) - A 20-year-old man from Sterling, Va. Has been charged with two counts of burglary in Fairfax County. Jamil Alam of 302 Signal Court in Sterling was arrested at 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 6 after two burglaries took place in the Monroe Manor community of Reston.
Alam also remains a suspect in a series of at least 20 garage break-ins in Fairfax County as well, which began in mid-March. Reports began coming into the Reston Police that someone was breaking into garages and stealing things from unlocked cars and entering homes through unlocked doors.
Apple electronic devices, alcohol, and wallets were reported missing, but were generally found near the crime scenes without money in them.
Alam is currently charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of attempted burglary, and possession of burglarious tools. The investigation remains ongoing.
