ROANOKE, Va. (AP) -- A search warrant says a Franklin County sheriff's deputy suspected of fatally shooting his ex-wife found out she told his new wife the former couple still had an ongoing relationship.
Media outlets report the State Police search warrant was issued Wednesday in Franklin County as part of an investigation into the death of 30-year-old Jennifer Agee.
Her ex-husband, 32-year-old Deputy Jonathan Agee, remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds from an Interstate 81 standoff with troopers following Jennifer Agee's death. A State Police sergeant who was wounded in the shootout has been released from a hospital.
The warrant says Jonathan Agee's current wife, Julia Angell, told an investigator she had received several text messages from Jennifer Agee.
Jennifer Agee was shot to death Monday at a Roanoke convenience store.
