The temporary flame that was operating at the gravesite of President John F. Kennedy was transferred to the permanent Eternal Flame in a ceremony in Arlington on Tuesday. The temporary flame was in place while upgrades and testing took place for the Eternal Flame. This is only the second time in history that a temporary flame has been used at this site. The first time was when Mrs. Kennedy lit a temporary flame during JFK's interment service on Nov. 25, 1963. See photos here from CBS News video.
