2-alarm fire in Manassas

A Manassas family managed to escape the flames that engulfed their home in the Lake Jackson area early Wednesday morning. Chief Curtis Brody, spokesman for the Prince William County Fire Department, says the fire was first reported just before 2:00 a.m. in the 10600 block of Tattersall Drive. Once firefighters arrived on scene they found the blaze, which may have started outside the home, had spread throughout the house. A 2nd alarm response was requested to the scene. Chief Brody says radiant heat from the intense blaze also spread the fire damage to a home next door.
