DC Fire crews were called to Forest Side Assisted Living shortly before 4:00 Wednesday morning to handle a blaze in 2nd floor apartment. Crews were able to quickly bring the flames under control. According to Metropolitan Police, one person was rescued but not injured. All other residents were able to take shelter in their homes. According to Forest Side's website, the facility provides residential options to those with dementia, Alzheimer's or cognitive impairment who require around the clock care.
