Crews search for man in Potomac River

Police received a call at around 8:00 p.m. Monday that a 24-year-old man fell into the water from an observation platform. Two boats were sent into the water and the US Park Police helicopter is also assisting, police said. The victim reportedly jumped in the water after sitting on the rocks with some friends. He was wearing khaki pants and did not have a shirt on, police said. Search efforts were suspended at 10 p.m. Monday but crews are going to search again from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
