Route 4 in the area of Mt. Harmony Road was shut down for a while after a car struck a metal power line support pole on Wednesday morning. SMECO asked police to keep the road closed for safety reasons, we are told. SMECO official expected the road to be closed for 8 to 10 hours, but police told us around 10 a.m. that they were delaying the closure. The driver of the car was flown from the scene and is in critical condition, according to officials.
