One firefighter received a minor injury in a fire at the Bolling Air Force Base in D.C. on Monday morning. The fire was reported at 8:52 a.m. in the area of the Navy Lodge, which is on the south side of the base. Two attached townhomes were on fire, with flames showing through the roof. Fire crews entered the building and search the first and second floors of the building with three adjoining townhouses. Two townhomes were gutted in the fire. Three other townhomes suffered smoke and water damage. All occupants of the five homes will be displaced and are staying with friends and/or relatives on the based. We are told a 6-year-old boy smelled the smoke before the smoke alarms sounded and was instrumental in alerting his family. All of the families got out of the homes safely.
