Residents of an Adelphi neighborhood forced from their homes by an overnight police stand-off should be allowed to return soon, now that the situation has been resolved peacefully. According to Corporal Maria McKinney, spokeswoman for the Prince George's County Police Department, officers were called in to assist members of the U.S. Marshals Service attempting to serve an arrest warrant in the 1800 block of Greenwich Wood Drive around 10:20 Monday night. Once officers arrived on scene they called for a barricade response. Corporal McKinney says the armed suspect barricaded inside the residence, however no hostages were involved. Officials have not released any detailed information on the suspect or the nature of the arrest warrant.
