(CBSNews) -- Ikea is a special place for Carlos Gato and Rebecca Shackelford. They met at the furniture store two years ago, and on June 15, it's the place where they got engaged.

CBS Miami reports that the 30-year-old paramedic organized an elaborate flash mob, friends and Ikea employees included, at the Ikea Sunrise, Fla. The YouTube video, professionally produced, has since been getting thousands of hits.

"I didn't want to do it small," Gato said. "I wanted to do it big for her."

Ikea helped Gatro organize the June 15th spectacle with the help of a local dance studio.

Shackelford said she had no idea Gato was about to pop the question. She thought she and some friends were having a girls' day out when a she was asked to take a survey and wait for a prize. Ikea employees, who were in on the secret, told Shackelfor there was a production being filmed at the store so she wouldn't get suspicious when the dancing started.

"They took one night, learned routine and pop up twice in the flash mob, but I actually had friends and family all in the background hiding so I probably had like 20 or 30 people there watching," Gato said.

The dancer performed to Bruno Mars' "Marry You." The planning had taken a total of six months.

Shackelford said she didn't suspect anything was up until she noticed her friends join the flash mob.

By the time Gato walked down the escalator, flower in hand, the tears were flowing

"I just had massive adrenaline," Shacklford said. "I was crying. Overwhelming excitement. I was just overwhelmed."

Of course, she said yes. The couple plans to marry in about a year.
