WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Train service between Baltimore, Md. and D.C. has been restored after thousands of MARC customers experienced delays and suspended train travel on Friday.

Officials say the service was suspended early this morning when Penn Line MARC Train 415 experienced a problem with the overhead catenary wires between BWI Airport and Odenton, Md.

Amtrak crews were able to repair most of the damaged lines, and MARC crews will work to restore normal operations as quickly as possible.

Officials say though the wires are repaired, some afternoon services may be affected.

Amtrak advises MARC passengers consider the Camden Line this afternoon or the B30 local bus from BWI to the Metro.

MARC tickets will be honored on the WMATA's Metro service.
