George Zimmerman at bail hearing on April 20, 2012 (CBS)
St. Petersburg, Florida - The recorded phone calls between jailed George Zimmerman and his wife Shellie are peppered with talk about money. The calls are from back in April, before George Zimmerman was initially released on bond.
The calls come into play, because at George's bond hearing, Shellie testified that the couple was broke.
LISTEN: George Zimmerman Jailhouse Calls
Prosecutors say the six calls released Monday show that Shellie knew all about a PayPal account that held donations for George's defense.
One conversation centered on how Shellie could gain access to the account by changing the password.
ZIMMERMAN: Remember I said, you need to call him and so he can reset it, the password and the security questions are something that you can use?
ZIMMERMAN: Like when you log in and it gives you all of those security questions and you'll know the answers?
Sometimes the couple appeared to talk in code, with Zimmerman apparently referring to the PayPal account as "Peter Pan" and the two talked about transferring thousands of dollars as if it were just $10.
ZIMMERMAN: Um. I'm trying to think, cause you're gonna take out $10 and put it, and keep it with you, in cash, right? So that you, less than (inaudible)
SHELLIE: Well, yeah like nine.
And on a more personal vein, the couple also expressed support for each other.
SHELLIE: Please keep your chin up honey.
ZIMMERMAN: I will
SHELLIE: You're gonna be out soon, okay?
ZIMMERMAN: Thank you, I love you.
SHELLIE: I love you.
And all that talk has caused more legal problems for the couple. George Zimmerman's bail was revoked and Shellie is now facing perjury charges.
Zimmerman is charged in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. He has another bond hearing June 29.
