WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA)-- Frederic Landau is supposed to be vacationing in Washington D.C., enjoying the Nation's Capitol with friends.
Instead, he's spending his time here glued to the television following the news of the turmoil in his home country of Israel.
Landau said, "They are shooting missiles daily, hourly."
Landau is an Israeli Defense Forces reservist. The 23-year old is only two months removed from active duty, and he believes he'll get a call at any moment to go back home and enter the front lines.
He said, " If I do I will be there, because it's a big pride in Israel to fight for our country, for our home."
In the meantime he says he'll try and enjoy the rest of his trip to Washington.
Landau said, "Israeli people, Jewish people they believe in peace. We don't want to fight. Nobody wants to send 18-year old boys into Gaza tomorrow morning, but we know that we have no other choice."
