VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) - A Virginia Beach man faces federal charges of shining a laser at Navy jets from Oceana Naval Air Station.
Robert Bruce also is accused of threatening to shoot the jets during calls he made to Oceana's noise complaint line.
The Virginian-Pilot reports that a federal magistrate issued a warrant for Bruce's arrest Tuesday after the Naval Criminal Investigative Service filed a criminal complaint.
Bruce is charged with interfering with a flight crew, aiming a laser at an aircraft and forcibly intimidating or interfering with federal employees. He remains free on a personal recognizance bond following a court appearance Wednesday.
