LANHAM, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County Police are investigating three crashes on Route 50 on Monday afternoon.
One accident happened at Rt. 50 and MLK Highway and involved a police vehicle and several other cars. The police cruiser may have been responding to another accident.
In another accident, a car hit a guardrail on eastbound 50 in Bowie. An ambulance was blocking the eastbound lanes. Near that accident on the westbound side of Route 50 in Bowie, a Chick-fil-A catering van flipped onto its side. Police confirm that one of their off-duty officers at the time also received minor injuries. Two other people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
