UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9/ AP) - A Prince George's County man was sentenced for his role in a 2011 robbery and murder on Wednesday.

Kelvin Walker of Fort Washington was sentenced to life plus 20 years Wednesday morning in Prince George's County Circuit Court. Walker will serve at least 35 years before he becomes eligible for parole. Due to his life sentence, the governor would have to sign off on his release.

The 24-year-old Walker was convicted in July of killing 17-year-old Justin Isaacs on the doorsteps of his home, then stealing a gold chain and money.

The gun had been stolen from the car of an off-duty police officer that was parked at the Springfield Metro station two days earlier.

Prosecutors say Walker bragged to associates that he killed the teenager to prove that he was a killer.

Tyrone Lewis was an accomplice in the crime, say authorities. Lewis was convicted two weeks ago of murdering Lenny Harris, whom he kidnapped and robbed in an attempt to raise bail money for Walker when Walker was incarcerated in Charles County on an unrelated charge, according to authorities.
