ARBUTUS, Md. (AP/WUSA) - Three northbound lanes of Interstate 95 have reopened after a tractor trailer crash and fire blocked traffic on the Interstate near the Baltimore beltway for several hours overnight.
The blaze started after the tractor trailer crashed with a tow truck on I-95 just south of Interstate 695 in the Arbutus area around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Hazardous materials crews responded to clean up gas spilled on the highway. No injuries were reported.
The State Highway Administration diverted northbound traffic onto Interstate 195 through the early morning hours. According to MDSHA, three left lanes reopened on northbound I-95 shortly after 6:00 a.m., with one right lane remaining closed. Delays extend back to Howard County line. Officials are asking drivers to stay alert.
