Three Passengers Injured After Multiple Deer Run Into Md. Road

FREDERICK, Md. (WUSA) - Several people were hurt early Saturday after several deer ran into the roadway. 

State police say shortly after 3 a.m. 24-year-old Rafael Puesan was going west on Rt. 340 when the deer appeared. Puesan tried to avoid them and lost control of his car and traveled over the median before coming to a stop on a shoulder.

According to authorities, three passengers were hurt in the accident - including Jaime Chever, 25, of Kissimee, Florida and Leslie Gale, 22 of Takoma Park. Nathaniel Epps, 23, of Silver Spring had to be transported by helicopter to shock trauma. The driver and a fourth passenger, Juan Rodriguez, 23, of Takoma Park, was injured and treated at the scene.

Rt. 340 was closed temporarily.
