CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- One person died and another was hospitalized after an accident, officials say.
According to the Calvert County Volunteer Fire Department spokesperson, a car crossed the median on Route 4 and Sixes Road and struck a medic unit that was traveling in the opposite direction at about 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
A person in the car was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver of the medic unit was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma with serious but non-life threatening injures, officials said.
The accident remains under investigation. SKY 9 was on the scene and captured the images.
Route 4 was closed in both directions.
