SAVAGE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Police are investigating a collision between a car and a dirt bike that left one person in the hospital.
Twenty-two-year-old Emily Rose Day of Laurel was driving her dirt bike at approximately 10:31 on Wednesday night when she was hit by a car, police said.
It happened at the intersection of Knights Bridge Road and Stebbing Way, police said in a news release.
Day was taken to Shock Trauma where she is in serious but stable condition, police said.
According to police, the 2004 Honday CRF 70 dirt bike does not have any lights and is not legal to operate on public highways.
The driver of the car never saw the dirt bike, police said. Day was not wearing a helmet during the collision.
The collision is still under investigation.
