BRANDYWINE, Md. (WUSA) -- Two men are dead after their motorcycles collided with a minivan in Brandywine late Thursday night.
Maryland State Police are investigating the incident, which occurred in the northbound lanes of Route 301 at Short Cut Road around 11:11 p.m. One of the motorcyclists was pronounced dead at the scene. The second rider was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The driver of the mini-van was not seriously injured.
An accident reconstruction team responded to the scene, which blocked the northbound lanes of Route 301 for several hours. All lanes reopened around 4:30 a.m.
At this time there are no details available on what led to the collision.
The identities of the two victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
