SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- A student was shot with a TASER at a Montgomery County High School, police said.

It happened around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, at Blair High School, in Silver Spring, when police say a female student refused to go back in school, after being ordered to do so by a female school resource officer, police said.

The student then struck the police officer, officials said. The officer pulled out her TASER and "deployed the device" onto her.

The student was taken to the hospital and checked out, then released.

She is charged with second degree assault and disruption of school, police said.
