WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police Community Action Team Officers arrested a carjacking suspect last night.
Police arrested 34-year-old Glenn Vincent Rhodes. The incident started at approximately 10:00 p.m. when police conducted a registration check on a Honda Accord which showed that the registration tags had been stolen, police said.
Police watched Rhodes drive under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. At the end of the lot, the Honda jumped the curb and started to travel east on Randolph Road."
Rhodes also attempted to push the driver out of a Mazda vehicle and stated he was high on crystal methamphetamine. Two officers and the 22-year-old Mazda driver received minor injuries while attempting to remove Rhodes from the Mazda, police said.
Rhodes has been charged with attempting carjacking, four counts of first degree assault, resisting arrest, and approximately thirty traffic violations. Another passenger with Rhodes, Jessica Allen, 23, of the 3800 block of Twin Oaks Road in Edgewater was also arrested.
