UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) --  This week, deputies with the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office arrested Damien Wilkes for a home burglary with property damage that occurred last year.

According to the warrant, Wilkes broke into a home in the 500 block of Wilson Bridge Drive in Oxon Hill on November 6, 2012. Authorities say Wilkes stole $6,950 worth of property and caused $650 worth of damage at the house.

Authorities say detectives later linked the victim's stolen money order to Wilkes, and obtained a warrant for his arrest in January 2013.

Deputies found Wilkes on Tuesday at a home in the 8400 block of Indian Head Highway in Fort Washington, say authorities, where he was arrested without incident.

Authorities say Wilkes was transported to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections and charged with First and Third Degree Burglary, Felony Theft and Destruction of Property.
