BALTIMORE, Md. (WUSA9) -- The Maryland Transit Administration has activated its snow plan due to the possibility of a severe winter snow storm beginning early Wednesday morning.
MTA said in a press release that local buses will operate on regular routes as long as possible, however, some routes may be diverted to snow emergency routes depending on ice conditions and snow levels.
The Maryland Transit Administration will mobillize their operations, maintenence, and customer service staff in case of a severe weather emergency.
According to MTA, tree removal crews are on standby, and snow removal crews are already pre-treating Light Rail and Metro Subway parking lots, bus loops, and sidewalks.
