LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission says customers in the Laurel and Beltsville areas of Prince George's County might have brown water coming out of their taps because of a broken water main in the area.

The WSSC says the discolored water is safe to drink, although it might taste different. It can be used for showering, flushing toilets, cleaning floors and other routine tasks.

But the utility says it doesn't recommend using the water to prepare baby formula or to wash clothes in the washing machine.
