COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WUSA) -- Students were robbed at gunpoint off the University of Maryland campus.
An alert was sent by the school, detailing three people walking east on Lakeland Road and passing two suspects going west around 11:30 p.m. Friday. The pair of blackmales brandished a silver and brown handgun while wearing a gray sweatshirt and a green coat, respectively. Prince George's County Police say it was just two victims who had personal property stolen before the suspects fled on food towards the train tracks.
Police were not able to locate any suspects and ask the public for any information.
The UMD Police Department also sent out a release citing several robberies reported in the area. They added County officers made two arrests in the off-campus cases but in another, it was determined the reported robbery was fabricated.
