SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) -- An apparent party guest turned out to be an armed robber.

Montgomery County Police say a woman sent out a text message notifying friends that she was hosting a party in a specific room at the Homewood Suites Hotel, located at 8728 Colesville Rd.

On Friday, multiple guests began arriving and after 11 p.m. the host heard a knock at the door and saw a black male waiting at the door, police say.

The host let him in, thinking he was another guest. Once inside, the suspect pulled out a sawed-off shotgun and announced the robbery, taking cash, personal items, phones, and electronics from eight victims, according to police.

Police were able to obtain a description of the suspect and found 18-year-old Jackson Julius aboard a Ride On bus with a duffel bag. Police asked Julius to exit the bus for questioning and found the sawed-off shotgun and the victim's property in the bag.

Julias was arrested and charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and other related firearm offenses, police say.

He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
