Student Struck By Car While Walking To School In Howard Co.

(WUSA) -- Howard County police say a 17-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle while he was walking to River Hill High School on Tuesday morning. The teen, who is not being identified by name at this time, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. He is in serious condition, according to police.

Police say the high school student was crossing Linden Linthicum Lane in a crosswalk when a Honda Accord traveling westbound on the road near Little Bells Row struck him shortly before 7:30 a.m.

The driver and passenger were not injured. The driver stopped his vehicle at the scene.

Police continue to investigate the accident.
