WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) advises to expect icy conditions during the morning rush hour on Thursday.

Crews will be out conditioning the roads early in the morning due to expected near-freezing temperatures, damp roads and fog, SHA said.

"When you step out and see ice on your doorstep, you can assume that roads will be icy as well," said SHA Administrator Melinda B. Peters. "Also remember that conditions can change rapidly within just a few miles, and we ask motorists to remain on guard and exercise extreme caution tonight and tomorrow morning."
