Police: Two Stabbed In Gaithersburg, Md.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA) -- Gaithersburg Police are investigating an aggravated assault that happened in the Olde Towne Gaithersburg area early Sunday morning.

According to officials, an officer was patrolling in the 200 block of East Diamond Avenue when a man flagged him down saying he was stabbed. Soon after, a call was dispatched for a second victim who was stabbed in the area of Brookes Avenue and Park Avenue.

The investigation revealed that both victims knew eachother and were at a local restaurant in Olde Towne Gaithersburg before being assaulted, says officials.

Shortly after leaving the restaurant, officials say both victims were approached by three unknown Hispanic men who confronted the two and started a conversation with the victims before one of the Hispanic men stabbed them.

Officials say both victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to area hospitals for additional medical care.
