ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) - A Rockville man has pleaded guilty to attempted 2nd degree murder in the May 2012 shooting of two people at the Rockville Metro station, according to John M. McCarthy, State's Attorney for Montgomery County.
Kevin Nguyen, 17, of Rockville, pleaded guilty to Attempted 2nd Degree Murder and Use of a Handgun in the Commission of a Crime of Violence, and faces up to 50 years in prison for the charges. He is scheduled to be sentenced in Feb. 2013.
The verdict stems from the incident on May 18, 2012 at the Rockville Metro Station, where Jared Cannon,16, and Wasima Gary, 19, were allegedly shot by Nguyen.
The gun used was provided by Tavares Harris, who was found guilty on Dec. 4 of 1st degree assault and use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence.
