ARNOLD, Md. (WUSA) -- A Maryland man was arrested for banging on neighbors' doors and yelling profanities then opening his door with a shotgun when police came to investigate the incident.
Last Thursday, Anne Arundel County police say officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Belle Dora Court in Arnold for a neighbor dispute. Witnesses told them a man was acting erratically, banging on doors and yelling profanities for most of the day. The witnesses were able to point out the building that he lived in. The officer stood outside the home to wait for backup before talked to the man, say police.
The man, however, came out of his home pointing a shotgun at the officer, according to police. The officer then drew his gun and ordered the man to put down the shotgun. The man put the gun down and was taken into custody.
Police say the gun was a loaded Winchester 12 gauge shotgun.
The man, William Wesley Neal, was charged with first and second degree assault, assault with a deadly weapon and reckless endangerment.
