UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA)  - A pickup truck rear-ended school bus 5097 Wednesday afternoon, carrying 32 students from Barack Obama Elementary School, according to a Prince George's County Fire Dept. spokesman.

The crash, on Rte. 301 at Swanson Road near the truck station, injured the pickup truck driver who was taken to a trauma center with serious non-life threatening injures.

The male bus driver was also transported to an area hospital for minor injures.  Paramedics evaluated the students and only one needed to go to the hospital for a knee injury, according to the spokesman.

Students were reportedly picked up at the scene except for four students who were going back to the school to be picked up by their parents.

The driver of the bus was transported to the hospital for precautionary reasons and one student was transported to the hospital because of knee pain, according to Linda McCaughley of Prince George's County Schools.
