Police release video of Gaithersburg, Md., robbery at Chipotle store, seek public's help in ID'ing suspect

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WUSA) -- Montgomery County Police have released video of the Oct. 21 robbery in at the Chipotle restaurant in Gaithersburg Square Shopping Center., and ask the public's help in finding the suspect.   

On October 21 at approximately 10:43 p.m., officers responded to a call from the Chipotle restaurant at 564 North Frederick Avenue  for the report of an armed robbery.  

Police say that the suspect entered the rear door when an employee was throwing away trash.  The suspect showed a handgun and forced the employees into an office.  

The suspect then told the manager to open the safe, and removed an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect fled on foot towards the Montgomery County fairgrounds, which near the shopping center.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6'1" -6'3"l, weighing approximately 250-270 pounds.  Police say he was wearing a plaid shirt and dark pants, and had a white covering over his face.
