(WUSA) -- Maryland State Police say they were pursuing a stolen vehicle on Route 1 near the IKEA in Prince George's County after it refused to stop on Friday. They say an officer was struck by the stolen car while he was throwing out stop sticks to stop the vehicle.

The officer was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect then fled into Montgomery County in the area of New Hampshire and Powder Mill Rd. The suspect bailed from the vehicle, but police caught him after pursuing the suspect on foot.
