JESSUP, Md. (WUSA) -- A man police say is part of the Dead Man Inc. gang in Anne Arundel County is charged after officers found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a three-foot American alligator at his home.
Anne Arundel County police say law enforcement officers executed a search and seizure warrant at a home in the 7500 block of Gleneagle Drive in Jessup on Friday as part of an investigation into drug trafficking allegations. Detectives seized approximately 159 grams of kind bud marijuana, drug paraphernalia, $792 in cash and other substances before finding something else: an American Alligator.
According to police, the alligator was found on the premises and Animal Control responded to the scene. Police say the alligator was in good health and was later taken to a facility that handles exotic animals.
Thirty-two-year-old Michael Golden is currently charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of marijuana. Police say, however, that additional charges are pending once the crime lab determines what the other unknown substances are that were found at the home.
