OCEAN CITY, Md. (WUSA) - A day after Superstorm Sandy rolled up the east coast, Ocean City began its recovery from the hurricane-force weather. Clearing skies showed empty beaches, but as Scott Broom reports, life is gradually returning to normal.
All bridges into Ocean City opened at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon and officials opened access to most storm impacted parts.
Ocean City suffered significant flooding, with water over the sea wall on the beach. The Inlet city parking lot was covered with so much sand, it will have to be moved with heavy equipment.
There are no reported injuries due to the storm. The city's popular fishing pier was partially destroyed.
