Giant Food Removes Peanut Butter Granola Bars From Sale Due To Threat Of Salmonella

LANDOVER, Md. (WUSA) - Giant Food has removed Cascadian Farm Organic Peanut Butter Chip Granola Bars from sale due to possible salmonella contamination in the peanut butter.  The decision comes following a recall from General Mills.

Giant says they have received no reports of illness to date associated with the consumption of the granola bars.  Giant asks customers who have bought the bars to throw them away and bring in their receipt to the store to collect a full refund.

The following product with sell by dates of 01NOV2012 and 02NOV2012 is included in this recall:

  • Cascadian Farm Organic Peanut Butter Chip Granola Bars, UPC 2190814631, 7.4 oz.
