David Chance McDonald and Linda Joanne Garner, both of Lothian, Md., charged with theft after leaving Wal-Mart without paying for merchandise

WALDORF, Md. (WUSA) - Two people who filled a shopping cart with merchandise and left a Wal-Mart without paying were apprehended by officers outside the store, according to Charles County Police.

On July 13 at 12:43 p.m., officers were called to Wal-Mart in the 11900 block of Acton Lane for the report of a theft in progress.


 Store security told them that two suspects - previously suspected of stealing carts full of merchandise - were back in the store loading up a with items that included air conditioners, generators, a glass table, chairs, gas trimmers, cell phones, safes and various other items.

The suspects left the store without paying. In the parking lot, they were arrested by officers who were waiting outside for them.

David Chance McDonald, 28, of Lothian and Linda Joanne Garner, 27, of Lothian, were charged with theft over $1,000. They were remanded to the Charles County Detention Center.
